People will believe what they want to be true. No matter what the subject, if they feel so strongly about it, it becomes their reality even if there is contrary evidence to suggest otherwise that they are wrong.
When we don’t agree with someone, we tend to create a divide, a wall, fence for the matter to keep us away from the people that don’t agree with what we want them to believe. We want people to be like us and when they don’t see the world how we see it, we stay on our side of the fence we built.
It’s a lot safer on land that we are familiar with than what lies outside the wire.
History will tell you that the greatest discoveries made were done by those who had an insatiable appetite to leave where they were most comfortable.
Imagine for a second if no one ever left where they were comfortable.
The only way we will ever discover more, push ourselves to be more, and become more open is to leave our fence and go out to the land where we know nothing.
