Every Sunday, you'll get a strategy to build, launch, and create the life you desire.
On Monday Night Football, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin's life changed.
In what seemingly looked like a routine tackle, a play he's made thousands of times, Hamlin stood up after the tackle and suddenly collapsed to the ground.
The world held its breath as a young 24-year-old, in the prime of his career, playing for one of the best teams in the NFL, a young millionaire, was fighting for his life.
As many of us on this platform have seen the updates and news on his condition and I'll leave it to the professionals to get the news on him, I want to turn attention to your life.
Yes, your life.
Your worries.
Your anxieties.
Your frustrations.
Your gripes.
In your day-to-day, it seems like a big deal.
In the moments of your day, they seem like the only thing that matters.
But I encourage you to take a moment and zoom out.
Take a step back and look less at your problems and more about what you have.
Because Damar Hamlin's injury should be a reminder to all of us that life can change in an instant.
We can be on top of the world and suddenly be fighting for our lives.
We can be at rock bottom and suddenly be on top of the mountain.
The incident last night made me reflect on all the gifts I have been given.
It made me think about what matters most in life.
It's not the follower count.
It's not the online sales.
It's not the day-to-day grind of being an entrepreneur.
For me, it's about love.
It's about relationships and impact.
It's about creating adventure and enjoying the ride.
Treasure the gifts you've been given. Pay less attention to your worries.
Recognize how fragile life is and take a moment today to spend time with those you love.
Choose to make your life full of memories.
Experiences are the currency.
Keep pursuing your goals but keep your health in mind.
Chase your dreams but keep your loved ones included.
At the end of your life, do you wish to look back to see you spent so much time on your pursuits that you forgot others along the way?
I know I don’t. Neither do you.
I encourage you to take a small moment of reflection.
Zoom out from your endeavors.
Embrace where you are and how precious this moment is.
See your gifts. Forget your worries.
Enjoy everything you have done, you have, and will continue to achieve.
Love others as you love yourself.
And most important, spend your time and life having fun.
In the words of Ferris Bueller…
Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” – Ferris Bueller
